Single: Everything’s Fine – all I can say

I will zone out everything around me, forget where I am and what I have done this week, and just let the music pull me into this MTV 2000 pop-punk.

“all I can say” is about the strained relationship between our singer and his mother, who left when he was young. They both say they want to reconnect, but neither knows how to begin. He fears that by the time they figure it out, it might be too late.

I am lying on my sofa. Friday evening, tired from a long work week, tired from life, from constant battle, and this Seattle pop punk / melodic hardcore band is in my ears. Somehow, “harder” music has been the most pleasing way to vent off all the negative energy I have accumulated over the week. Moreover, the topic of the hard relationship between son and mother is something I can relate to myself. Luckily, we are still communicating, but had to start afresh due to some unfortunate conflicts.

Pop punk is always bringing me back to my teenage years when I wanted to rebel and be different than my parents, but now I am also wondering why we have a fragile relationship. A mix of emotions is swirling in my head when I listen to this song. Maybe that was the intention. To relate, to feel, to hear.

Either way, these Seattle punkers got me, and I have been enjoying this 2000s channel-end energy that always brings my teenage dreams back. I really loved the punchiness of the melody and the overall drive of the song blasting in my ears right now. I wished I could experience this live, lose myself in the mad crowd, or just sing along. Either way, they created a banger that is relatable. I will zone out everything around me, forget where I am and what I have done this week, and just let the music pull me into this MTV 2000 pop-punk.
