Single: Tiberius – Felt

Boston alt/indie quartet Tiberius releases their fourth album, “Troubadour”, on November 14th.

This is the second single to be taken from it and follows the rather splendid Sag (which we also reviewed). Felt is a rockier affair than the last tune and is just as engaging, but the energy here is different.

Where Sag felt rather laidback and almost lethargic, Felt feels comparatively frenetic and full of urgency, at least as the song starts. As it progresses, there’s definitely still a slacker vibe here, but it’s more refined. Lyrically, it’s introspective, confessional, observational, pensive and bittersweet.

Musically, the distinct blend of slacker, indie, alt country and alternative rock comes through again, and they feel like a combination of Pavement, Whiskeytown and Mew.

This single, paired with the previous one, bodes extremely well for the forthcoming full-length. We will anxiously look forward to hearing it.
