XAMIYA is the combination of Tokyo artist KAMIYA and Fukuoka-based producer XANSEI. After achieving success with their own individual solo ventures (as well as dalliances with the worlds of fashion and hip-hop, respectively), they have amalgamated to form a brand-new act.
Coming across like a blend of ‘Take On Me’ and ‘Deceptacon,’ performed by a combination of Yoko Ono, The Kills, Sleigh Bells, and Love Is All, GG is an ambitious melange of styles.
It’s a full-throttle celebration of artistic freedom that incorporates elements of hyperpop, punk rock, electroclash, avant-garde, and more.
Only their fifth track together, and already well-established, for XAMIYA, it certainly feels like the world—and all its sub-genres—is their oyster.
