‘Wish’, the new single by the alternative guitar-led project, Bled Tape, is yet another lovely offering by the Chicago-based artist.
Where many previous releases from Bled Tape, have focussed on an ethereal, shoegaze-leaning sound, ‘Wish’ definitely takes inspiration from slowcore bands, like Duster, Codeine, and Teethe. It is a different approach for the project, but one that works well. The minimal drums and uncomplicated guitar lines make for quite a hypnotic moment, something that could easily lull you to sleep.
Bled Tape are a new discovery for me, but I shall definitely be keeping up with the project from now on. Their vision of slow, dreamy music is nothing if not magnetic, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them. For now, however, I urge you to listen to, ‘Wish’.
