Summer has landed in Florida, with temperatures in the 90s nearly every day…so it’s no secret that I need to cool off and chill out. With no pool in sight and the local beach being the literal shark bite capital of the world, I need to find a better way to achieve that refreshed feeling. That’s where Whisper comes in.
Today, I’m plunging into the deep end with this first single from Whisper called Cross Country. Whisper is based in Austin, TX, and is releasing their debut EP soon, offering us a treat along the way in the form of beautiful songs.
With elements of shoegaze and dream pop, Cross Country feels like an answered prayer to this writer who would sell the shirt off their back for a decent track. The full yet airy vocals sit atop the liminal atmosphere they’ve created, forming a whirlwind that lifts you into your subconscious.
Monumental guitar melodies echo through my brain and bolster my love for this music scene to unprecedented levels. I’ll be keeping my eye out for more releases from Whisper in anticipation of the upcoming EP.
