Beginning with a bombastic beat that belies the ethereal beauty that is to come, Million In One is a bit of a sheep in wolves’ clothing.
Very quickly, we enter through a shimmering shoegazey bedroom pop haze. Warbly synths, showery guitars and far-off vocals all amalgamate to generate a sense of nostalgia, tension and almost claustrophobia.
Viennese band Trauma Glow have been putting out tunes – in the form of a couple of EPs and various singles – since 2023. This one was written and produced by them alongside fellow Viennese artist Sakura. The pair work seamlessly together to produce something instantaneously captivating.
Part Pavement, part Midlake, part The Postal Service – this thing is an absolute marvel. A new band to us, we will definitely be listening to more.
