The minute I pressed play, I had to do a double-take that I didn’t click on a Deftones song. The artist from Essex has said that he has been influenced by bands such as Deftones, Linkin Park, and Superheaven, which, upon reading that, I was instantly curious, as I tend to have those bands playing on repeat. Tmdistant is coming off his last single titled All I Know Is…Id Go Blind For You, where he landed a spot in Spotify’s all-new rock and all-new metal playlist. This new song Where Do I Find You has that Deftones old school shoegaze, alt metal vibe on a quite emotional song that’s relatable if you’ve ever been through a heartbreak or stuck in a toxic relationship.
This song also includes help from Daystar, an artist from Singapore, who adds a lot of depth to the vocals and the two mesh really well with one another. The drums and guitar that come in on the chorus really give it that noise rock, metal feel, and the chorus itself is extremely catchy; you’ll find yourself singing it long after you’ve listened to it.
