Single: Thornbraver – Catch

Pao Altamirano, the brains and voice behind LA-based Thornbraver, has been busy lately. As a producer, composer, and audio engineer, she’s had a lot on her plate since the release of her 2022 EP Mostly You. But nearly four years later, she’s returned with two new singles, “Regular” and “Catch”, the latter featured here. Thornbraver’s new single layers indie and jangle pop with grunge and vocals that range from restrained yearning to an explosion of emotion, with the relationship anxiety and heartbreak prevalent throughout the track. It has elements of current girl-fronted indie (beebadobee, Soccer Mommy) and the sounds of the genre from the 90s and 2000s (Letters to Cleo comes to mind).

Both sonically and lyrically, it’s a magnificent return for Thornbraver, hinting at even more coming down the line in 2026. Take a listen to “Catch” below.
