Single: The Mooches – Elephant Arcade

It’s fitting that it’s released on Valentine’s Day. Enjoy it with someone special.

The newest members of Black Rainbow Collective have taken a turn. Some might call it a curveball. Say it came out of left field. Or call it a change of pace. But really, it’s a different side of the same coin.

Still rooted in the iconic English songwriting in line with writers like Ray Davies, Amy Winehouse, David Bowie, Lee Mavers, and Noel Gallagher – Elephant Arcade is, as Richard Ashcroft once said, “a song for the lovers”.

A lullaby about meeting someone you can put your utter trust in. About falling and falling hard. And about the giddy joy of the prospect of your future together.

With a luscious curtain of backing vocals, shimmering guitars – including some delicious slide – and a steady backbeat, The Mooches new tune is as sentimental as we’ve ever heard them, and it suits them down to the ground. Founded on love – both romantically and musically – it’s fitting that it’s released on Valentine’s Day. Enjoy it with someone special.
