This Boston outfit creates a single that’s all about having a good time. Starting off strong, the fun production makes you want to get up or tap your Van-covered toes. The driving instrumentation harkens back to a more feel-good era of rock music. The result is something that you can’t help but return to, like a wellspring of catchy music.
In the best way possible, “Little Epiphany” sounds like a group of friends drunkenly hopping on stage to jam out a hit. It’s also full of the kind of misfit energy that we need right now. The kind of intensity that makes you want to hop into a studio and record something for yourself.
If you’ve ever taken a chance on a local music festival and found that crazy garage band in the corner. You know the one. The guys are playing their hearts out, strumming their instruments to death, and having the most fun. That’s the kind of musical spirit that overflows from this song.
There’s even a little bit of the Pixies emanating from this track. There’s a danger here. With that palpable intensity, you get the feeling that they’re playing this while walking a tightrope. The good news is that they never fall off.
