Single: Summer Underground – 10 Years Later

Los Angeles’s Summer Underground returns “10 Years Later”, at least according to the final track on their new album ROLLING ROCK (out 1/16/2026). The duo of Grant Carey and Chrissy Sandman hasn’t gone anywhere: Since 2014’s full-length Honeycomb, they’ve dropped EPs and singles and followed the high-school-friends to bandmates to lovers pipeline. But the new record from the Pittsburgh-born LA-based duo feels like a homecoming, or at least a return to the sounds of their indie-pop beginnings. “10 Years Later” is a wistful ending, like a soundtrack to walking or driving through your old hometown and feeling like a stranger. If the song feels like something out of 2011, it’s because of the vocoder and toy piano, brought back to good use in this latest installment to Summer Underground’s discography. (The duo is leaning into nostalgia on Instagram, too.)

But while Grant and Chrissy are reflecting on the last decade and returning to their roots on ROLLING ROCK, the new album sounds plenty fresh for 2026. Take a listen to “10 Years Later” below and enjoy.
