Single: Stinkus – Holy Virgin

We had the pleasure of introducing Stinkus on our blog before, and he has returned with a brand-new single, accompanied by a video. The artist shared with us that he has written this song about walking his dog around his neighbourhood and seeing all his neighbours. The music is coming from his next album, which he made in a cabin in Michigan this past winter. This is a first release under his new label Group Speed.

The song is once again a catchy, slacker-ish indie rock track that will get stuck in your head, serving as a continuation of the previous music this artist has created. In the video, you can clearly see that the artist is backed by a band as well, which will definitely make this song even more alive. The video has a nice 90s feel, and it’s a great addition to the song’s overall atmosphere.

The whole song has been emitting a lot of nostalgia for me, and it sounded so carefree and playful. It got me hooked so much that I wanted to listen to it over and over, which I instantly did while listening to this song and writing these words.

Once again, my practice of writing about music is significantly lower, but I am glad when I can jump in and help out the team. Stinkus is definitely one of my favourite discoveries, but I am really struggling to grasp why. It could be the laid-back fuzzy vocals, the catchy riffs, or the overall energy the songs bring. Either way, I am enjoying it all, and this new single is a stellar one.
