May 31st marks the release of the new song by Ruston, Louisiana artist, Rupe. ‘my friends’ chronicles the artist wishing to know those they believe in as well as they know their own friends, all under a lush dream-pop landscape. Rupe’s voice is light breezy, and the song’s production feels like an ocean lapping at your feet on a windy day at the beach. It is a sweet song, with an even sweeter sentiment. It is the perfectly comforting track to herald in the first days of summer, with seagulls high above and the horizon far in front. I will have this on repeat for the rest of the season, and will keep an eye out for any future releases; you should too!
