Single: Plum Shed – After Hours

As I’ve taken on the role of editor for our blog—a position I never expected to find myself in—my personal time for writing about music has become quite limited. However, I’m not worried; we have exceptionally talented writers who bring a fresh perspective that often surpasses my own. When I find myself with some free time, like this Sunday morning, I eagerly dive into the submissions we’ve received.

One particular submission caught my attention, coming from an artist based in the States. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much information available about them on social media, which left me curious. The music itself can be described as a blend of acoustic, emo, and folk, infused with a unique raw energy that immediately captivated me. The track, though relatively brief, effectively conveyed a vibrant atmosphere that I thoroughly enjoyed.

There’s something utterly compelling about this stripped-down version of emo, where the focus rests squarely on the heartfelt vocals and simple yet beautiful melodies. The artist’s performance resonated deeply with me, and I appreciated the lyrical presentation; the use of all-caps letters amplified the raw, emotional energy of the vocals, creating an even stronger connection to the music.

I am impressed by this second track from Plum Shed, which further showcases their talent. I’m genuinely looking forward to what they have in store next. Perhaps in the upcoming submissions, we’ll discover more about their background and the stories that inspire their music.
