After a long and stressful day at work, I decided to take another dip into one of my all-time favorite genres, and it was truly an absolute joy.
This recent release from Peira, a single titled Where To Go, opens with a gorgeous and hopeful instrumental that sets the stage for an ethereal experience. As the smooth, angelic vocals start, you’re whisked off into the clouds. Listening to this track feels like being comfortably cocooned above the sky and sung into a trance that you don’t dare resist.
The drums make themselves known as the ever-pumping heartbeat of this song around the 1:45 mark and greatly add to the feelings of longing and introspectiveness that the chords reveal. I’m such a sucker for an intense chord progression; one that feels monumental and all-encompassing, one that you can feel reverberate in your bloodstream. Let’s just say I was not at all disappointed and was left with some misty eyes.
The lone piano and vocal sliver near the bridge of the song remains to be the most “raw” section of the track, and probably my favorite few seconds of the entire experience. As we come back into the verse and slide gracefully into the outro, a perfectly-placed electric guitar takes me further into the trance, and the responsive vocals wrap the song up with a delicate bow.
This was my first listen to Peira, and it will NOT be my last. I highly recommend you check out this single, Where To Go, and let us know if you took a trip into the clouds as well.
