“Stay” tells a precious love story about finally finding someone who feels like a resonant match—someone who makes you feel safe and cared for at all times. “Stay with me as the seasons change / Stay with me as the world feels strange / Stay with me when the silence comes / Stay with me as the evening falls,” the chorus goes. Sommer’s voice floats across the listener, drawing them in with vulnerability and intimacy. Everything from the vocals to the instruments to the melody flickers softly as the song creates a dreamy atmosphere. It’s clear the music collective has no fear of coloring outside the lines, unafraid of exploring a mixture of genres, including indie and dream pop. “Stay” has a trip-hop sensibility to it, reminiscent of Portishead and Massive Attack with the relaxed drums, drifting piano melody, and Sommer’s calm vocals.
