Having previously released their EP ‘First Four Reggae Kids’, Mildred Kid are back with their newest single ‘Dream Girl’. A song which chucks you in straight at the deep end and with no time for nonsense, the song’s punk-rockesque foundations quickly snatch your attention. Just before the Brazilian band’s slightly whiny vocals provide the early 2010s teenage dirtbag vibes, letting you truly live out your rebel fantasies.
Fast and furious at just over a minute long, the song is a stellar example of proving that punk-rock is still very much thriving. The vocals take a backseat with the instruments being the star of the show. Filled with power chords and strong guitar riffs, it makes for a fun, carefree listen, helping to demonstrate that the band have nothing to worry about in making a name for themselves.
Fun, fresh and fuelled with teenage angst, ‘Dream Girl’ by Mildred Kid proves that the young band are certainly one to watch out for in the future and leaves you reassured that the future of music has been left in very capable hands.
