2 Selves is a moving, commanding piece that you imagine – when performed live, like we assume it was at his recent sold-out hometown show in Vancouver – will stop audiences in their tracks. It’s a pin-drop moment of a song.
It’s subtle but at the same time kind of stately. It doesn’t deviate much from the formula from the outset til the end, but it doesn’t need to. The seemingly simple formula is enough to keep us spellbound.
A student of the game since 8 or 9 years old and releasing music since 2016, Matt has now amassed over 200K monthly listeners on Spotify and has played to audiences in the UK, Slovakia, the US and of course, Canada.
The future looks likely to be getting even brighter for this singer-songwriter/producer.
