Single: Marie Haw – Carsick

Synth and guitar lovers…this one’s for you! Suppose you’re into angelic vocals that bring a raw authenticity to some of the most atmospheric music ever created. In that case, Marie Haw needs to be the next indie rock artist you lend your time to.

CARSICK is the latest single from NJ native Marie Haw and is such a perfect introduction to her sound. She wrote, produced, and mixed this track, which always takes the music up at least a few notches for me, just because it’s the most authentic to the creator if they touch every piece and part of the music. If you know me, it’s not very strange to hear that statement, as my #1 love will always be DIY music.

Twinkly guitars and a perfectly placed bass accompany the synths and silken vocals I mentioned earlier to create such a unique and dopamine-filled atmosphere that you’re quick to hit repeat over and over again to stay trapped in this world.

To quote the artist’s submission, “The track embodies the chaos and catharsis of a fraught road trip, exploring vulnerability and the messy, unpredictable moments of life—like throwing up on someone’s lap.” Marie Haw is an incredibly talented storyteller and has the ability to mold a fresh and exciting song through relatable lyricism and emotional vocals.

You can now stream CARSICK on all major streaming platforms, and I encourage you to do so. Plus, if you dig Marie’s sound, definitely follow her on IG @mariehaw_ and let her know how much you enjoyed this track. Until her next release, I’ll be listening to this one on repeat and squeezing all of the juice out of it that I can muster.
