Single: Luzma’ – Lost

Luzma’ is a Midwest emo math rock band from Chicago. They claim to be “all about the sadboi vibes, late night drives, and extra large fries.” I found this description very funny, and I enjoy it when the bands are more creative with their bios.

This newest song is about feeling long or not belonging anywhere, and we can all relate to such an experience. They explored further that it is “potentially having felt like you once managed to find a place where you felt secure, only to have lost that space and left uncertain about the future.” The band described the song as “very emotional, melancholy, lonely, and introspective.”

Additionally, they even suggested the ideal place where the song fits. “A perfect track while sitting in a lonely field with raindrops slowly covering your black hoodie.” Also, the bands mentioned that zero AI was used in the creation of the song. This disclaimer will become increasingly important as we receive an increasing number of submissions that claim not to be AI-generated, but are.

Emotive shoegaze with a lot of energy is something I can relate to and have been listening to a lot in recent months. It has become my two favorite genres, and the band has been blending them together so well. I will also share the lyrics below, so you can follow along while listening to this track. They complement the song and add to its atmosphere.

I was imagining being outside, heavy rain pouring down, and walking through the empty streets of my city. A dim light and a feeling of being alone. The song is blasting in my headphones, keeping pace with the beat of the raindrops. Heading home, but never sure how long it takes, but the music is my companion.

The band created an emotive track that will leave a lasting impression.

I’m dreaming of the rain
I’m taking in this pain
That takes and then retains
The aching in my brain
The bleeding and its stains
I’m taking in this pain
That takes and then retains
The aching in my brain

And I can’t breathe
I’m everlost
And can’t be gone
Before your loss
And I can’t see
Forever gone
You’re never wrong
But you’ll never be home

I’m taking it all in
I’m losing faith again
Between the states of sin
I end and I begin
I’m longing for a home
I’m waiting for a show
I’ll never really know
I’ll never be back home

And I can’t breathe
I’m everlost
And cant be gone
Before your loss
And I can’t see
Forever gone
You’re never wrong
But you’ll never be home
You’ll never be home
You’ll never be home
You’ll never be home
Never be home
You’ll never be home
You’ll never be home
You’ll never be home
