Like some kind of technicolour emo-disco, the new tune from Milwaukee trio, Known Moons, explodes into life.
Starting with an archetypal indie rock guitar, it builds in grandiosity gradually. Part The Killers, part The Courteeners, it also reminds us musically of artists like Jeremy Abrams and American Football. Special mention must go out to the spidery guitars, the lynchpin bassline and the subtle synths – these components add unique and commanding elements to the song that ensnare and beguile.
With a surprise trumpet solo towards the end (as a stylistic choice reminiscent of The National), TIME is a joyous amalgamation of tones, textures, and styles that results in a tune that makes an immediate impact.
TIME is the first track from the upcoming Known Moons and Barely Civil split EP titled Barely Known, dropping February 2nd 2026.
