Single: KASHIKOI ULYSSES – Ai wa Kodashini

“We are KASHIKOI ULYSSES, a lo-fi band from Kyoto Japan. Many sad things happen in life, but we try to make it okay.

In 2009, we opened our MySpace page under the name “Kashikoi Ulysses” and began our band activities after moving from Matsuyama to Kyoto the following year. We continued to perform live in various places with different members due to changes caused by moving.

Due to the pandemic, we had to suspend our activities in 2020. We resumed activities in 2022 with a new member, bringing our current lineup to five members.

The song begins with the word “arigatou”, which means “thank you”. It is a word meaning “thank you. Then he sings, “I will trust you. I told you in English, too.”

Although this song is sung mostly in Japanese, few Japanese speakers will understand the lyrics. Music is always like that. All I want to say is the fact that I will trust you.”

Few words from the press note, so you will not get lost. This post makes me super pumped for two reasons. The first is the fact this band is from Japan and I love sharing music coming from that special country. The second is the fact that I have not heard such an interesting single in a while. I do not understand a word of the song, to be honest, but the melody and the blend of genres are just great. I really like the experimental, jazzy aspect of the song and I can listen to this song over and over and discover more things that are amazing about this song. This is exactly track that I want everyone to listen to. The band deserves it.
