‘These little messages, I’m picking up with antennae’
JW Francis is an NYC-based bedroom pop artist who jangles and drawls hard. His latest single ‘Turtleneck Weather’ is a delightfully chipper and energetic tune based around positive statements of intent, a pleasant groove and infectious little guitar licks.
The slack-jaw vocal approach nods to Eels and a little Lou Reed while the overall feel of the song is hopeful and breezy.
From the artist – ‘I wrote this song about feeling like I had to go and walk the Appalachian Trail, which I did a couple years back.’
