You aren’t going to want to miss this, it’s Here For You’s first single off their DEBUT album! A perfect combination of emo, folk, and indie, this artist checks off every box for me. I adore their raw vocals, their storytelling is vibrantly unique, and their instrumentation is fun as hell. This single, Brunson Floater, was released at the end of May, and after hearing it, I CANNOT wait for their album to drop.
Brunson Floater, to quote the artist’s submission, is “…about the New York Knicks and mundane love.” Some of my favorite lyrics and lyrical patterns happen during the chorus:
we’re a brunson floater
you just can’t miss
hey LA baby i
love you more than my knicks
this could be our year
but i’ve been fooled before
with too many heartbreaks
on the hardwood floor
There’s something so endearing about this song and the atmosphere it creates, that’s one of the many things I love about folk-leaning music. If you enjoy emo or folk genres at all, you’ll love what Here For You has going on!
