Disso!ver have never been ones to shy away from difficult emotions, as proven by their single ‘Ich will wie du sein’. Loaded to the brim with emotive lyrics like “I want to be like you” and “I want to completely lose myself in you”, the song explores unrequited yet slightly obsessive love in true indie rock fashion.
Despite being completely in German, ‘Ich will wie du sein’ transcends language barriers, jumping straight into the hearts of all those who have the chance to listen to it.
The rhythmic drums paired with the fuzzy guitars and wailing solo are some of my highlights of the entire song. Providing a guiding light, they help take you on a smooth and palatable journey which leaves you transformed (for the better) at the end.
This little triumph is a testament to the band’s hard work, and although Disso!ver have never been on my radar before, they certainly are now if ‘Ich will wie du sein’ is anything to go by, and they should 100% be on yours too!
