calfari nol mewn amser single cover

Single: Calfari – Nôl Mewn Amser

The Welsh six-piece band return after almost a decade with a new single about looking back on youth and having no responsibilities, and learning to grow up.

It’s not every day that we get submissions in Welsh, so when Calfari sent us “Nôl Mewn Amser” — their first music since 2017 — we knew that we must feature it.

Quite fitting too that the band’s named this track such: “Nôl Mewn Amser” translates to “Back in Time”, which is exactly what Calfari is. The band from Anglesey in North Wales originally formed in 2014, setting their current six-piece lineup in 2015. Over the next couple of years, the band gained notability through Wales and the UK with play on BBC Radio Cymru and live performances throughout the country, earning a budding fanbase.

After releasing two EPs and an album between 2015 and 2017, the band went dark. But now they’ve returned in 2026 with plans for a new Welsh EP early next year, and they’re giving us a little taste of their new era on “Nôl Mewn Amser”. The song features a pretty straightforward punk-tinged rock sound which will make fans of either harder-edged or pop-leaning punk happy.

The new single looks back on having no responsibilities as a young person, and dealing with increasing tasks and obligations as time goes on. For Calfari, this hits close to home; after almost a decade out of the game, they’re looking back at their origins and figuring out how to move forward, both with their music and their lives outside of it. As usual for Calfari, the single’s in Welsh, but the language barrier won’t stop anyone from being able to vibe with the new tune.

Take a listen to “Nôl Mewn Amser” below, and look out for news of their upcoming EP on their socials.
