Broke Royals have been a band for 10 years now, and their sound has, expectedly, evolved over this time.
Indeed, the new tune is even a world apart from their most recent single, the thumping, twangy and slightly slinky Games You Play, released at the start of the year.
Lyrically, the song is about friendship, determination and creativity. In the words of the band, “Still is about persistence and the sound of five friends evolving but never letting go of what started it all”.
Still is a luscious, viscous shoegaze tune that is executed with professionalism, perfection and potency. It has blistering lead lines to cut through the audio fog and doesn’t sacrifice melody for size and scope.
