Hitting your eardrums on the 27th of May, Atmos Bloom (consisting of duo Tilda Graton and Curtis Paterson) make a statement with their ethereal new single ‘Everything’ ahead of their eagerly anticipated album ‘Everythingness’ (set for release July 24th via Spirit Goth). Sticking true to the album’s themes of youth, maturing, and the delicate art of change, the track represents the struggle of attempting to be everything and everyone all at once. The difficulty of finding who you truly are in this busy world that slows down for no one. It’s a message that I, and I’m sure a lot of others, can relate to, especially in today’s world of constant trends and ever-evolving social media algorithms (but I digress).
Having been making music together for 7 years, it’s evident that all that time and effort has paid off with this track. From the dreamy guitars to Granton’s vocals that take on an almost Mazzy Star-like quality, it’s a song that I easily found myself returning to, and I won’t be surprised to find out that others are in the same boat. A warm blanket of a song that’s paired with a music video that would make even the very best indie filmmakers jealous, ‘Everything’ fully deserves its place on the album’s track list.
The distortion that the song features is especially a highlight for me, helping listeners to get lost in the buzz of the music. Not to be too dramatic here, but when you listen, it’s a soul-searching experience. You begin the song as yourself and end it changed. Coming out with a deeper appreciation not only for the world around you but also for what Atmos Bloom has blessed the world with.
Showcasing how the London-based duo (thankfully) have no intentions of stopping, I can’t wait to see how they’ll develop these notions presented within ‘Everything’ further with ‘Everythingness’ (that I would hugely encourage everyone to listen to when it’s released!)
