Say what you want, but the ramshackle blending of fuzzy, reverbed guitar, the opening twinkle of piano, and other instruments never ever get old, especially at a time when people fear the barginging in of A.I. Bedroom rocker “Disco Elysium” is a fuzzy artifact of indie rock goodness that delights the ear just enough for you to be disappointed at how short it all is. (It is approx. two minutes.) It’s understandable, considering the subject. (The song, in Shishkin’s words, is based upon a game where a “degenerate, amnesiac detective” has to solve a murder after coming off of a drug bender) Still, two more minutes!
