Introducing: smalltalk – Rosemary & 3 questions

smalltalk is the solo project of Andrew Keith from Savannah Georgia. Using sampling as a sonic medium and layering as an instrument, smalltalk creates unique soundscapes alongside psychedelic pop rhythms and structures.

This is another introducing feature in order to give shout-out to a smaller artist/band. There is once again not much to learn about the band besides the little quote above. These shoegaze dreamgazers are making noise, fuzzy indie rock. If you do not have headphones with you, I recommend you to get them first to fully enjoy this album. What a fuzzy ride it is.

I talked to Andy and asked our 3 questions:

What inspired you to start making music and what keeps you making music?

Making music has always been an extremely creative process, i think everyone searches for a way that allows them to make the world into their vision and music allows us to do that

What was the most challenging thing in your music (artistic) path?

I’m finding it harder and harder to return to my senses of childlike ambition, I think as one grows up there’s a lot of pressure to adhere to principles of social pressure that seem to eek into one’s consciousness as they grow older. I think as Picasso said “It took me my whole life to learn to draw as a child” or something of that notion

What would you dream to do if anything was possible?

I would genuinely encourage people to follow whatever their favorite passion is, my dreams always seem secondary to the excitement that can come when you watch a friend of yours work hard at something and succeed at it!
