Introducing: Letting Up Despite Great Faults – Crumble & 3 questions

“Formed in Los Angeles CA, Mike Lee and Kent Zambrana found their better musical halves Annah Fisette and Daniel Schmidt just a few years later in Austin TX.”

If you searched the internet, you would find a lot of coverage about them, but I have discovered them just recently. I have written about their single and it got me really hooked. I am really digging their shoegaze dreamy indie pop and their newest EP is just great, pure guitar awesomeness. Probably it is one of the best EPs I have listened to this year so far. It reminds me a lot of Radio Dept., which I have been enjoying a lot for so many years. I am so happy their sound is still considered something worth trying to bring to music fans. Letting Up Despite Great Faults are making great catchy songs and I am excited to listen to their music in the future as well. They are doing some touring these weeks, so follow their Instagram to learn more. They will play in my favorite Japan as well and I bet the fans will love their live shows. I would love to see them play Europe as well. I would buy a ticket myself.

In the meantime enjoy this EP, which I will listen to on repeat in the next few days.

I asked Mike Lee from the band our 3 questions:

What inspired you to start making music and what keeps you making music?

Inspiration to make music probably stems from just all the artists I was listening to as a kid. 90s grunge made me beg my mom for a guitar while 00s electronic music made me get a credit card to buy my first MPC and synths. I have written lots of songs but I still feel like I haven’t been able to really make something that is completely what is in my head…it’s so elusive and I guess each song I write is a small result of me chasing that elusive thing.

What was the most challenging thing in your music (artistic) path?

The most challenging thing is maybe being too comfortable. Comfort often will disguise itself and trick you into being lazy and overly content… I constantly remind myself to have that beginner’s mind, where you’re hungry to write, create, and learn.

What would you dream to do if anything was possible?

This is a crazy question lol. I just want to have a life surrounded by loving friends, family, and creativity.
