Introducing: Human Barbie – no worries & 3 questions

I have discovered this album piece by piece and I have been enjoying every single I had a chance to listen to that is part of this album. If I had to pick one reason, why I am loving this EP (album) very much is the guitars. I am so in love with them. Every song has a different version of them, but I have a crush on all of them. Accompanies with dreamy vocals and lyrics like these from the song empty:

“Midnight empty city running
Everything we ever wanted
Hazy LA river floating
Lazy, high and overflowing
We’re floating”

I love this album from the beginning to the end and definitely became one of my favorite ones I have discovered recently. I do not have poetic words to describe the feeling I have while listening to these songs, but most of the feelings are joyful. I will just close my eyes, blast it in my ears and just enjoy the beautiful moment that music like this can make. So do not wait, smash that play button and discover it for yourself.

I have also sent our favorite 3 questions to Christopher, the mastermind behind Human Barbie.

What inspired you to start making music and what keeps you making music?

I’ve always been called to write music – even when I was 4 years old, I used to make up my own songs on our old upright piano.  In high school, I used to listen to hours and hours of albums on my headphones every night, late into the night – classical music, rock bands, jazz, EDM, anything I could get my hands on.  As I grew up, I became more and more invested in recording and performing my own music.  Nowadays, music is such a core part of who I am, there’s no way I wouldn’t keep going!!  I have a huge (and growing) back-log of unrecorded songs, so now it’s always my main mission to figure out how to finish the next album…

What was the most challenging thing in your music (artistic) path?

The most challenging thing is hands-down learning how to promote myself and get the songs in front of new ears.  Music comes comparatively easily to me, and it’s so fulfilling and rewarding, I’m going to do that part no matter what else happens.  But I also want the project to grow!  So I’ve spent the past few years really trying to learn all of the micro-skills involved with releasing music and spreading the word.  It definitely doesn’t come naturally to me, but I’m starting to get better with the tools I have available…  I’m pretty sure that will always be a challenge, though.

What would you dream to do if anything was possible?

Well, my dream is to play sold-out tours across the US and the world!!   I know it’s a huge leap to get from where I am today to that point, but I’ve seen it happen, and I know that anything is possible.  For now, I’m just happy to be able to record music, and I’m really grateful that there are some fans out there that appreciate what I do 🙂  I’m just doing the best I can, hoping for cool opportunities, and trying to make sweet albums.  But if I ever get a chance to play the main stage of Coachella or Glastonbury, well, that would be an *absolute* dream come true.  Cross your fingers for me!!

Go and get the album.
