“bark dog is the recording project of 24 year old nonbinary experimental musician/artist blair jasper (they/them).”
I have been enjoying lo-fi music for so many years that I feel like it is part of me and I am always happy to discover more artists doing some version of lo-fi music. Bark dog is exactly that case when I am feeling like, wow this is cool. Energetic, experimental, honest. You can find anything in this album.
There is not much to learn about the artist, besides the fact that they are from Bennington, Vermont (at least according to Bandcamp), but I can guarantee you do not need to know anything to enjoy this EP.
Every song has its own energy and melody, its own story, and the whole EP is enjoyable to listen to from the beginning to the end. It would be hard for me to pick a favorite song, each of them has something that makes it unique. It was a really special listening experience and I hope you will feel the same way.
I have asked Blair our 3 questions and got these responses:
What inspired you to start making music and what keeps you making music?
My natural drive to want to perform and express myself and make things since I was very young, never goes away tbh and I remember being a little kid and wanting to be in a band
What was the most challenging thing in your music (artistic) path?
Figuring out how to keep writing songs consistently and constantly. My challenges haven’t gone away, I’m still trying to figure out how to play more shows and get more exposure.
What would you dream to do if anything was possible?
I’d love to write a book of short stories or a short film.
