Filip’s Quick Single Picks: Glom, Ian Davies, Lunavela, Brown Bear Collective, Cold Soul x Mega Mango, Kalina Tyne

Glom – Pebble

I have been sharing Glom’s music on regular basis. They are creating catchy dreamy slowcore and this one is not exception. Somehow their music is always feeling special in comparison to other similar artists and I have been enjoying their guitar melodies and vocals pretty much. This one is especially really beautiful and I am enjoying it very much. You can find more music on Spotify.

Ian Davies – Stubborn

“Stubborn” uses a sparse arrangement and simple language to observe an overthinking narrator’s inability to process loss, and the power of self-deception through compulsive thought and substance use. Recorded on 16-track tape in a single session, the song draws from the rich vocal harmonies and classic songcraft of early 70’s Laurel Canyon folk rock.” I am not huge fan of country music in general, but this song is really amazing. I guess I am more fan of alt country genre. I have been enjoying this song very much and I hope you will like the vibes too. You can find more music on Bandcamp.

Lunavela – Six-out-of-ten friend

I have shared couple of songs from Lunavela on our blog before and this one is once again a great one. Also I have been enjoying this DIY video a lot. Simple story and catchy melody as well. “Six-Out-Of-Ten Friend is not a misanthropic song, it’s more a celebration of setting better boundaries with people who don’t get you and laughing about social awkwardness. Y’know celebrating that awkward conversation of small talk in the pet food aisle of Tesco with an ex-work colleague, music punisher or an ex-girlfriend’s husband. This is my idea of a pop song”. I am liking, what about you? You can find more music on Spotify.

Brown Bear Collective – Fever

“Brown Bear Collective is a musical project formed by songwriter/producer Dillon Thomas. Based in rural England he writes and self produces all of his music in a garden shed. Fever was born from WhatsApp writing sessions between songwriter/producer Dillon Thomas and singer/songwriter Lisa-Marie Kämpf after the pair met on Instagram.” A nice indie lo-fi rock with really beautiful vocals. Really nice build duet, which is getting me hooked. I am enjoying the atmosphere it creates and how simple it is yet captivating. You can find more music on Spotify.

Cold Soul x Mega Mango – Too Far

“Cold Soul’s newest track, “Too Far,” is a true testament to the power of collaboration. Cold soul recruited fellow Philadelphians from the group Mega Mango to add a touch of their signature “phruitcore” sound to the track. The voice of Mega Mango vocalist, Crow Costello, acts as a perfect contrast to the glossy, grungy, indie rock sounds of Cold Soul.” What a catchy indie rock track from my favorite US city Philadelphia. You can find some many different layers of sounds in the song, which makes it eve more interesting. I could totally see this live and get hooked. Kalina Tyne – Phoebe & Elliot

Last pick is a indie pop song from singer-songwriter from LA. “The song is about outgrowing your past self and reminiscing on a time when you’d change everything about yourself to be liked. In an age of fast trend cycles and where so much of us is shared with the whole world, staying true to oneself is a sentiment she hopes resonates with her audience.” If you like Olivia Rodrigo, Phoebe Bridgers, you might enjoy this one as well. It got me, maybe it can get you as well. You can find more music on Spotify.
