EP: Pocket Full of Crumbs / KAN KAN – KAN KAN / POCKET FULL OF CRUMBS

KAN KAN / POCKET FULL OF CRUMBS is a split EP between American projects Kan Kan and Pocket Full of Crumbs. Together, they do an incredible job of reviving the noisy, raw sound of the late ’80s and ’90s alternative rock era, bringing back that beautiful clash between vulnerability and loudness found in bands like Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., and Yuck.

The mini-album is one of those rare blends where raw noise and aching melody coexist perfectly. It is marked by emotional vocals that sound both weary and pained, buried under waves of distortion. The guitars are thick and woolly, giving the music a warm, blown-out texture. It really takes you back to those old times, evoking the hazy intensity of My Bloody Valentine or early Smashing Pumpkins.

But what makes this split special isn’t just the throwback aesthetic; it’s the feeling that everything here was made out of pure emotion, not perfection. It’s messy, loud, and strangely beautiful in that way only DIY records can be. Every track feels like a small moment of release, the kind of music that hits you quietly when you’re alone and the world feels too big.

It’s fuzzy, heartfelt, and a little broken, and maybe that’s exactly what makes it feel so alive. You can check them out here:
