little truck is a mystery of an artist. All I could find on their Bandcamp is that they are Los Angeles-based and they’ve released tracks like sound and vision (August 2024), dragon tattoo (2023), and more, spanning alt‑folk, shoegaze, and indie rock territory.
Their EP is not much different in terms of mystery and simplicity. Slow Planet 931 is a gentle and unassuming project. The title track opens the EP with a melancholic air, setting a moody tone that quietly lingers. It doesn’t overwhelm, which feels intentional. This is music that sits with its emotions instead of trying to delve into them too quickly.
Tracks like “Jelly” continue that slow, reflective pace, while “Clem (infinite forgiveness)” is a personal favourite. The lyric “known you a long time, loved you a long time” feels tender and honest, and the vocal delivery here is enjoyable. The whole EP resists being overproduced or complicated, which allows moments like this to land more deeply. There’s a softness to it all—vulnerable and fragile.
“Dragon Tattoo” shifts things slightly, offering a more upbeat closing moment before the final track, “Sound and Vision” closes the project. Even with its minimalism, the EP carries thoughtful detail, particularly in its track titles, which hint at deeper stories without needing to spell them out. Slow Planet 931 may be quiet, but that’s what makes it serene.
