EP: frizbiz – Dosage

It had been some time since we last shared music from the Middle East, and this time, we’re embarking on a journey to Haifa, Israel. I often find myself yearning for a deeper connection to the diverse landscapes of the Middle East; it seems that Western culture often overlooks the rich tapestry these regions offer. I long to explore the sounds of Iran, Palestine, and Lebanon, dreaming of a moment when these varied musical expressions can find their way to our blog. I believe the language barrier plays a significant role in this disconnect, yet I remain hopeful for a more inclusive and diverse future for our musical explorations. At least we can begin to bridge this gap.

Recently, I’ve been immersed in an EP from a shoegaze alt-rock band that I discovered. The music envelops you in a lush atmosphere, with swirling guitars creating a sonic wall that draws you into another realm. The EP opens with an instrumental introduction that perfectly sets the stage, offering a tantalizing glimpse of the sonic journey that lies ahead.

Each track exudes a monumental energy, augmented by the captivating vocals that weave intricate melodies, adding yet another layer to the experience. I’ve shared a fair amount of shoegaze music lately, seeking more innovative and fresh takes on the genre. While shoegaze can sometimes feel repetitive, this EP has undeniably breathed new life into it.

I can’t help but imagine how much more powerful these songs would feel in a live setting, where the energy of the performance would resonate deeply, showcasing the full force of the shoegaze sound. The melodies are climactic and haunting, each one more enjoyable than the last. This EP is not just interesting; it holds the potential to become a favorite for anyone who explores its depths.
