Whether one is crackling leaves by walking or stomping something to sheer oblivion, trust It’s All Burning doesn’t start quietly. With scorching bright synths and marching industrial drums, “Lay Fallow” begins strongly and ready to destroy all that ever insists on destroying beautiful things, if only to mourn all that has already been lost.
The description is said to be about “mental and emotional breakdowns”, and the song matches such intense energy, often to the point where it can feel like the intro to what things may trigger such breakdown. A handful of topics are covered here, from the ripping up of a fascist intruder of a scene (“Barely”) to anxiety (“Agonizing Over the Filth”, a song whose strutting, glamtronic rhythm and synths accompany Martin’s processed vocals). All with the soft vocals of Lilz Martin over hard electronic production.
This is goth/industrial for those whose first is indeed righteous, but it is also for those who realize that such fury can also be destructive to the soul. Tracks also have four remixes from artists such as Echo Haus and Blue Wizard.
