sir green is Angelos, an Athens, Greece-based musician who has been creating music since 2020 and has released several singles and albums over the years. We are sharing 4 of the latest ones, as two of them were shared with us by his friend, who has been admiring his music for a long time. I enjoyed the submitted music, so I listened to the rest of the singles that have been released in 2023, 2024, and 2025. They are a blend of lo-fi bedroom pop, slowcore, and folk influences.
It brought me back to 10 years ago, when we were releasing music on Z Tapes. I had been sharing a lot of sad, lo-fi bedroom pop music before it became mainstream, and as a result, many artists started to be labeled by that genre. Somehow, sir green’s music has this original quality that I have admired for so long. Low-key production, lo-fi atmosphere, sad yet honest vocals, and overall easy-to-connect-with music.
I am not wondering if Angelos’ friend connected with the music as much to share it with us, so we could share it with you, our dear readers. Our blog has always been a home for lo-fi, bedroom-produced music, and I am glad to share another interesting artist from Greece, a music scene that is still being discovered by us. You may not connect with all 4 singles. Still, I can guarantee that you might enjoy at least one of them; they are all equally great and already bring me a lot of nostalgic memories when I was discovering all the great music on Bandcamp, just randomly browsing through tags and giving a listen to unheard artists. I still do this, but in a more organized way, and I still enjoy the beauty of discovering new music.
It also reminded me of our old Z Tapes amiga herz. Great memories.
