Will DiNola is a composer, filmmaker, and all-around musician from New York, New York. His new single that released December 30th, 2025, I Am An Abacus, is a mellow yet somewhat gloomy meditation on the unstoppable passage of time. The song opens with a slow and very rhythmic guitar melody that really sells the theme of an abacus counting time as it relentlessly passes. The guitar eventually flows into a multi-layered melody that is intricate and enjoyable. Frankly, this song really showcases Will’s strength as a composer. The composition is by far the strongest part of the song. The vocal performance is a very close second. It is smooth, understated, and endearing. In fact, I would go as far as to say that the vocals invoke the vibes of Ben Folds. This is definitely a song I suggest getting your serious listening headphones out and kicking back to really take it all in. There is quite a lot presented here that subtly builds on itself until it has a crazy amount of depth. I Am An Abacus is for slowcore fans as well as listeners who really want to get lost in a composition.
