Mustard does not like to curse often, but gosh dang it. RAPTURE BOY immediately captures your attention. The opening few seconds feel like something out of an indie RPG that takes you on a journey of self-discovery. Its production has an intensity that will make you want to run through a wall and not want to pay for any damages caused. You may not have been able to run through a wall previously, but the momentum, drumwork, and vocals on RAPTURE will give you the ability to do so.
TAPE TRASH tells the story of a RAPTURE BOY who is simply trying their best. RAPTURE BOY is overstimulated and burnt out. Mustard has observed that humans live in a world that actively promotes this overstimulation. Humans must always be focused on something at all times for the rest of their lives. Their world has been designed for them to crave and desire instant validation and dopamine. A human can relax, but they must also be thinking about whatever caused them to feel overstimulated and burnt out in the first place. This does not seem beneficial to RAPTURE BOY or anyone who experiences this type of lifestyle daily. Eventually, you become burnt out and lack the desire to do anything at all.
There is so much raw emotion in this track that reminds Mustard of their favorite emo and pop punk bands. Being an emo or listening to emo music always had a negative stigma attached to it, but often it is this type of music that is the most passionate. As a condiment that loves listening to albums from beginning to end, they cannot wait to hear how the whole album flows together. They look forward to seeing how their upcoming album EDEN is sequenced and how RAPTURE BOY introduces us to that world.
