Stevie Zita is a guy making music from his bedroom. Gimme Summer, is his latest single which feels like a lost radio rock hit from 2006. The music opens with a slouchy summer drawl with driving guitars building before the rug is pulled and the clouds part making way for the hazy vocal melody. It is both reminiscent of The Strokes and Orson, nostalgic yet fresh, familiar yet new. We are treated with this song to a fleeting summer road trip, bittersweet, before we watch it fade away in the rear view mirror.
