For all the indie, alternative rock, and some slight screamo vocal factors incorporated, enthusiasts, if you have never heard of Sandcap or given them a listen, this is your number one reason to do so. Sandcap has just released a new hit single, ‘Forward Face‘, past October 29th. Forward Face is an indie rock song with soft and slight screamo vocals and a romantic guitar tune with hard drums for the visualization of first falling in love with someone. This song is perfect for all the romantics that have an eye for that dreamy and shoegaze sound, with a slightly harder take on it, with its drums and vocals. The lyrics are very poetic, genuine, with a gentle meaning, just like those feelings of the beginning stages of love.

After taking a deeper dive into Sandcap, Forward Face is a bit different from the band’s usual sound. The band takes on rock with some Midwest screamo vibes to it and gravitates to a softer, romantic, and dreamy sound with Forward Face. For bands that genuinely stick to one certain sound and then to cook up something entirely different is common, but to be able to nail a non-familiar sound than what the band is used to is rare. Sandcap got the job done, and a beautiful one at that, with Forward Face. The song encapsulates that warm feeling of realizing when a person has fallen in love with another, while also having those anxious feelings of the ‘new love jitters’. Towards the end of the song, the listener is able to hear both vocalists with soft vocals and the others’ more screamo-sounding vocals at the same time. This specific segment can portray those different first feelings of falling in love and realizing how much another person can mean to a person while being so devoted and laying all the cards out on the table for that one person. Forward Face is the type of song one can listen to on their own, taking a late-night drive, or even sharing it with that special someone in your life. Above all, Sandcap portrayed and mastered a beautiful song that can definitely and easily become a person’s favorite, as it became mine, and can communicate those beautiful new feelings of love with their new single Forward Face.
