Single: Rude Films – Horseshoe

After putting out a number of singles and an EP over the past five years, Manchester’s Rude Films released their self-titled debut full-length this past March. But not wanting to lose momentum, the fuzz-focused four-piece have a double A-side single out December 12th, containing the tracks “Through The Light” and “Horseshoe”. The latter – featured here – is a love song that howls with an energy the band describes as “unrelenting.” For the first two-and-a-half minutes, such is the case, as the band plays at such a frenetic pace that it almost seems like frustration. But at its climax, everything pops and the guitars fade into something blissful, as if to symbolize that frustration resolving into relief, which is often the case when you finally hook the horseshoe around the stake in the lawn. Take a listen to “Horseshoe” below.
