Single: omission – Want To

‘Don’t go chasing after me’

omission is a purveyor of bedroom slowcore based in Dallas. His single ‘Want To’ dropped into our inbox recently with little to no information, just a vague and pastoral cover photo. After a few listens, this became one of my favourite songs released this winter. In terms of structure and arrangement it is gorgeously minimal; it consists of nothing more than a couple of tracks of delicately layered guitars and a woozy yet melodic vocal line backed up by a ghostly harmony that dips in and out of the mix.

You will undoubtedly enjoy this if you are into music along the lines of sign crushes motorist, Duster, Birth Day and Grouper. I truly look forward to hearing more from omission in the future.
