Single: lifelink – Eventually

Eventually is the newest single by nugaze/grunge band lifelink, a loud, fuzzy blast of emotion that keeps shoegaze’s immersive density but trades its soft sparkle for something heavier, moodier, and beautifully jagged. It channels the raw grit of 90s alt-rock, especially the early Smashing Pumpkins, Hum, and Sunny Day Real Estate, and twists it into something that still feels distinctly modern.

It’s the kind of sound that hits that perfect nostalgic-yet-new sweet spot, my personal favorite territory. The track is explosive from start to finish, refusing to give you a single quiet moment. Thick, blown-out guitars swallow the room, but somehow still make space for soft, murmured vocals floating underneath, doubled voices that complement each other in a way that calls to mind Julie. Warm, saturated basslines sit deep in the mix, while loud, pounding drums lock everything together, giving the track that unmistakable alt-rock backbone. If you’re into bands like Superheaven, Whirr, or Nothing, this is absolutely going to hit the spot. Eventually drops on December 19.
