An arresting, atypical example of the New York ska-punk five-piece’s sound, November 3rd is an introspective lament that lives somewhere in between hope and despondency.
Normally, a high-tempo band full of energy and fire, this tune catches Half Dizzy in self-reflective mode. With only 1 guitar and dual harmonizing vocals, the band’s influences – acts like Millencolin and Rancid – take a bit of a backseat as they show us their softer side.
Beautifully produced by Pete Steinkopf of The Bouncing Souls, the minimal arrangement reflects the soul-baring nature of the lyrical content and gives the songs sentiment space to shine.
