This smooth, sophisticated alt-R&B/electronica fusion is unlike anything we can remember hearing recently. Maybe ever. There’s almost a touch of 070 Shake. But it’s slicker. Or The Japanese House. But less indie. Or The Weeknd. But less poppy. It’s a mix of many things and an imitation of none.
Inhibitions (So Close) is about a psychedelic romantic experience and the dreams, thoughts, fears, and feelings that come with it. Rather appropriately, it was released on Valentine’s Day.
In the short time since Emerys has started releasing music (less than a year), he has amassed quite the following and with tracks like this one, we’d expect that to only increase.
