Single: dipper – Mind to Heal

Firstly, I love long songs. There is a self-assuredness and freedom an artist displays when their songs are over 4 minutes long – these days going past 3:33 feels like a stretch. That being said, I enjoyed much of the calm instrumentation that fills the first half of this track. dipper’s vocals are very raw and laidback, but they work well with the neatly arranged production, which also gives the lyrics room to breathe. Listening to dipper’s other songs, there is an intentionality to the way he delivers vocals that is reminiscent of Bob Dylan. It is not in the gritty intonation, but rather in the artist that he makes the lyrics the center of the track.

This was a touching tribute and encouragement to people with anxieties. Moreover, it is a good introduction to his dipper’s upcoming album Greener Grass.
