Dalmatia’s single “Dive In” is out now. The guitar layered riffs are cool; they set the groove from the first opening bar. The tone reminds me of breaking waves, and I can clearly hear how they rise and destroy themselves against my ear. Autumn Henriksen’s vocals paired with the guitar are awesome as well.
Lyrically, the track is interesting. I especially remember “Ear to ear now / Like a seashell”, which brings thoughts about the nature of sound. A seashell is an example of a natural amplifier; it amplifies certain frequencies and muffles others, almost like a band-pass filter. It’s an unusual way to explain such imagery, but it aligns with the lyrics and aquatic vibes of the track.
In the music video for “Dive In”, the lighting setup is perfect. It features predominantly blue tones, through which I can feel the chilliness of the music, especially on the eve of the looming cold of autumn and winter. It hits the spot.
The track is the latest single from Dalmatia’s upcoming album Adagio. Take a listen to “Dive In” below.
